Hey peeps I have a question for you all-
Why is it that the USDM rear bumper in all its aftermartket or OEM glory doesnt seem to fit without looking like its being pulled off rearward? (stretched, loose, missmatched)

the jdm one hugs and seems cleaner (atleast right there if no where else)

The USDM Base model has the problem too, but it seems slightly less noticeable due to the lower spoiler/lips not being added.

The USDM impact beam at the back sticks out more to meet regulations. That's why when you do a JDM conversion you have to change out the rebar as well to allow it to fit.

 

I get that...but.... that should have absolutely no(?) bearing on why it is so detached looking on the sides.
I have looked and there is nothing there
And I find it odd that the Aveo and Yaris are not oddly bulked out. Especially the Yaris since its not originaly USDM.
