Jim at Tire Rack- Very Helpful

OK Fit Freak members I just ordered tires for my new HFP Factory wheels.
I called Tire Rack and asked for Jim .
I was very surprised that he was very willing to spend time with me on the phone. he discussed the ins and outs of all the various tires in in the
205 /45 /16 size range. I ended up choosing the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I flet this tire was a good balance of performance and the DD use it is going to see. What I love most is the tire is only 17 lbs so I am going to loose weight compared to my current setup of the 15inch stock alloys and the 22 lbs good year eagles I currently have on. So I think i should get more performance bang for my buck compared to any bolt on performance part.
Jim Thanks for your help, I cant wait for them to arrive

They are 07 HFP. You can use the sensors on this rim even though it does not have the relief in the wheel for it. I am assuming that's why you asked if 08/9. mY car is 07 so It's not an issue for me.
I will weigh the rims and then weigh the stock alloys with good year eagles vs the HFP With the Contis. look for post soon my tires shoud be here on friday. hope to have them mounted by next week.

The HFP wheels are 18 lbs on my bathroom scale which is right where others have indicated the weight to be on this site. with 17 lb tires that puts me at 35 lbs.
the stock 15 inch alloys are between 15 and 16 lbs as indicated on this site with 22 lb Goodyear eagles so I lost aprox 2 lbs per wheel which is not bad when up sizing

Are you dropped?

I'm wondering why not go 205/50 since they are a closer match to the overall diameter?

No I am not dropped. I was going to but decided against it because of the roads in N.Y.C dont want to rip out the oil pan etc.. or void the warranty.
I went with the 205 45 16 because of the lighter weight and lower sidewall. I was hoping to get quick steering. Which feel I did. I also wanted to try to improve MPG . Hve not been able to tell yet but so far so good.
