Help Decide Between 55's or 50's
I had a '90 Civic Si and went one size larger, same profile. It filled out the wheel wells nicely, made the car look less anemic and improved ride and cornering, but initial steering effort did increase. No rubbing, and speedometer and shift point issues were insignificant. But that was a '90 Civic Si and this is a '08 Fit Sport. I was wondering if you could speak to
1) Advantages
2) Disadvantages
of going from 195-55-15 to
1) 205-55-15
2) 205-50-15
Stock ride height, springs and shocks.

Thanks, probably true on the somewhat fat looking sidewalls but I think I will like the overall stance better. I did decide on the 205-55-15's because I'd have to go to a 215-50 in order not to lose height, which I did not want. Next question: which overall summer tire. On the Tire Rack site, it looks to me that the General UHP tire is not only the cheapest of all but seems to have the best feedback...any recommendations?

I would go with a 195/50/15 or keep the 195/55/15 if you are doing any serious driving because of the stretch of the tire around the wheel you will get so you don't roll the sidewall to the ground and rub your wheel. That's just my opinion if you're doing any real hard driving, if not I think the 50 looks a little better.
