Hey, what's going on everyone? Hope all is well. Still busy as heck here due to work.
Speaking of work, I did meet a guy that stopped by my dealer in a GE8 with T1R springs. Dude seemed pretty chill and actually checks out the site from time to time. Hopefully he'll see this thread and chimes in.
I might know of a guy. I'll have to ask him.

Hey guys, we're having a local Fit meet in Lake Jackson/Clute on the 10th (Sunday) at aSiel's... If anyone is interested, you are welcome to join. The address is 330 N. Dixie Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77531.
This is the same restaurant we went to during the last Houston/Angleton meet at MSR Houston a couple summers ago. Definitely good eats here! ^.^

Nice. Will you be showing there or spectating?
I hear you on aSiel's... At one point I'd go there at least twice a week for lunch until it started to catch up with me. ha
Now whether to get Chicken & Waffles or the Trash Tray...

Hi fellow freaks, haven't been here in a while, just chugging away...except today...when suddenly my car won't start.
Called AAA, it was hooked up, I cranked it and cranked it and no catching. The readout says "cranking normal" starter voltage is 10.0.
Any ideas? I will have it towed to the shop on Monday but I'm worried about it in the mean time. It's now got about 40K miles and has never had a tune up but it doesn't run rough and until now, only the battery has been replaced.
The one symptom was that after the last time the battery was drained & recharged, if it had been cold outside before a start, I would hear a grinding noise at the end of the start cycle, which sounded a lot like when we used to turn the key and the engine was already running. It only did his on the first cold start and then everything was fine. I was still on my 2nd battery and was thinking about getting it replaced, but now this.
The AAA guy was clueless. I'm not even sure he hooked up the charger correctly, now that I think about it. The battery indicated marginal and needs recharging. But the lights seem OK. The readout says 12.29 volts.
Hope everyone has been good here.

Oh my God, how stupid am I???
Wait, don't answer that. A couple of months ago, I misplaced my spare key for the Fit. I went to the dealer, bought a new key, and had my original key and the new one re-coded so the old key wouldn't work. Then, after about a month, I remembered where I had hidden the old spare key, found it, and laid it aside to have it re-coded when I was at the dealer again.
Today, I couldn't find my regular set of keys (they were in my coat pocket). I grabbed the spare key (which is no longer correctly coded) and tried to start the car. I had no idea you could even crank the car with the wrong key. Now that I think about it, I did see the green key light on the dash but it didn't register for long enough to make an impression.
Sure enough, once I tried the CORRECT key, it started right up.

^^ Who's this stranger?
Yeah... depending on the program function used, a tech can simply add a key and/or delete previously existing keys to a a Honda/Acura's immobilizer system. Since your previously existing key caused the green immobilizer light to come on, it was most likely deleted.
If the grinding noise happens after you move the key from the START position back to the ON, it could possibly your starter dragging and showing its early signs of failing. I just replaced mine two or three weeks ago with 85.9k miles on the clock... First time I replaced a start on a Fit, it took about an hour/hour and a half for me to do it.
