I hardly go to Dallas very much right now but I need to get up there to see my son and granddaughter I want to try and hook up with JCrimson this Sunday if I can slick out my car a little first... I need to set up an appointment for a dental follow up at the VA hospital on a Monday or Tuesday... If my wife will reassure me that my dog won't be left outside to wander off and my son is going to be at home on a Sunday I would love to hang out in Garland for a little while... There used to be some wonderful Asian restaurants on Walnut that I liked to pig out at I would sure like to revisit, maybe we could hit one of them or something.... I think I can still manipulate a pair of chopsticks.

Damn still 6 1/2 hours from here to there. Suppose I'll just have to wait until IR to hang out.

Just got back home and noticed a NHBP GD3 Sport that was lowered, had what looked to be a Yamaka Roof Rack and silver Konig Feathers heading north on 288 at 4:40 PM. That Fit sound familiar to anyone?

Checked and tweaked the alignment on the Fit for the first time yesterday. The toe was out of spec on both sides on th rear axle, camber is out of spec on the passenger rear, along with toe being out of spec on the passenger front.
3 hours of hunting down the right tool size, "persuading" the camber angle, and adjusting the toe on the front axle I got the caster set at 2.9 degrees and the toe set dead at 0 degrees just as Honda specifies. Front camber is still not where I want it (Driver: 0.2, Pass: -1.1) but I couldn't get much adjustment out of it without the crash bolts from Honda, a camber kit, or someone strong enough to shove the tire as I tightened down.
But adjusting the front alone made a nice difference in handling, turn in was more crisp and it almost felt like with a slight flick, I could kick the rear out for slow, tight bends. It felt like the Fit didn't fidget nearly as much whenever I hit a bump during cornering and feels much more stable.
Hopefully a set of crash bolts and more "persuading" will get the front camber where I want it and some EZ red shims will get the rear toe in check.

^^^ Just wondering at what speeds do you feel this change in handling? This done on city streets? Just curious.
I still have not got an alignment since I put my Swifts in last Spring. I do not notice any tire wear.

At low speeds (20-30 MPH) in a flat, empty parking lot under moderate to hard braking. Right as the nose dives and the weight is transfered forward, the rear wants get squirmy but is still manageable. With a nicely timed flick of the wheel, the rear can kick out. Keep in mind, I have 205/55R15s and stock springs.
At higher speeds (45-70/80ish, depends on the approaching bend) on a local backroad, it felt very stable (rear didn't want out) despite all the little bumps and dips on the road's surface. I didn't have to saw at the steering wheel to compromise for my sidewall's flex as nearly much before the alignment. The Fit just wants to hook when making left turns, but not so much on right turns due to the camber so I have to take it "easy" for them.
Edit: As long as your toe is set properly, you won't see much tire wear right away. Camber can indeed wear your tire down over time, but not as fast as toe. One of my tires was beginning to feather since toe wasn't in spec for that particular corner and it was only there for 7k miles. There was just about an 1/8 of an inch difference I'm guessing from the high and low spots on the inside most tread of the tire.
