There was a device that slightly elevated the shifter on air cooled VWs that made a pretty good difference in the length of throw but the washers or bushings alone won't come close to what the complete H-Fit kit does...... The VW. kit may have had the fitting to lengthen the shift stick but that was about 40 years ago and I can't remember if it did.

yeah if you get the adapter that goes onto the shifter you need the bushings unless you want to get longer bolts and use the stock rubber ones with a few washers to raise it.

the hardest part about it is getting the plastic ball cup from the stock shifter onto the short shifter because it has grease all over it.

if you dont have a clap or something to use it easy to do if you wrap the plastic ball cup with electrical tape and press it on with pliers

Correct! But if you saw, I only posted that using washers would just make it feel better, not actually shorter. Still 70 bucks, I couldve got the T1R short shifter with my own washer bushings. That would change the feel dramatically.

that is cheaper than the T1R SS unless i got it during the sale but like i said didnt pay it .

H-fit kit comes with bushings, SS adapter, loctite, locking pins, stickers and i got a Plate frame. for what you get its not that bad

in the future i will wait to get the T1R shifter used.
i just needed to get rid of my Bus driver feeling because of the shifter extender i have makes the stock shifter feel 2x longer

I officially have 1/4th of my Clazzios installed. LOL. It's too damn cold for no garage! I'll put another 1/4th on tomorrow as long as I don't run out of daylight.

All this shifter talk has me thinking. I had hard bushings on my Ep and it made a big diff. I don't mind the throw on the Ge. Anyone changed just the bushings?

I still think I have one of the shortest throws.

Joe (jcrim) has the mugen SS and skunk2 knob and mine is tighter and quicker than his. And that was with the stock knob. With the mugen knob its even more ridiculous. I'll let whoever wants to try it at the meet then you'll understand

Adam, what are you smoking??? Some wacky hookah, maybe? Ha ha.

Guess I've been kind of MIA with this internship up in Dallas, but school starts Monday which means I'll probably be back skimming the boards more frequently.

On 635 tonight I came upon a project CRX. Had a some rust/bondo/primed work done along the wheel well, had a aftermarket exhaust, might of been boosted, I don't really know. But I tried getting a response by kicking down a few gears and gunning it and it worked, ha ha. After I slowed back to speed limit, the CRX blew by me doing about 95... then he slowed to the speed limit. I passed him one more time doing about the same, and then he passed me again, lol. Then he slowed up and ran next to me until his exit.

I feel like the CRX is like the older brother or cousin or something like that to the Fit. It was cool to get that kind of response, I wish I had my bottle in, because then we really could have had some fun.

Also, did my first oil change at 7500 miles today. Well, I took it in to have it done. Too damn cold, and I didn't feel like jacking it up. Bought some royal purple synthetic and a wix oil filter and took it to a shop. The guy said he had never done work on a fit before... comforting, lol. But I watched (as I always do) him change it, and when he was done, he said that was the easiest Honda he's ever done an oil change on. Filter was staight on and a lot of room to work.

Yeah it was. 8.99/qt from O'Reilly's. Did some research though, and it seemed like my best option. Also looked at their (royal purple's) "performance extreme racing" oil, or something like that. Supposed to be good for racing applications such as being boosted or on nitrous. But that was like 16/qt! I wonder how much difference there really is.

Is the mobil 1 a true synthetic? I thought maybe it was a blend, which I was trying to avoid.

No way Mobil 1 is true. I'm sure its a blend because it burns so fast in my car, I can see it burn within a week. Even Amsoil burns and thats "true synthetic", but so far, Eneos still takes my vote after trying those 3.

Mobil 1 seemed to good to be true for the price, but I'm open to evidence otherwise.

Bluecell, you've never used royal purple have you?

No, I haven't used Royal Purple. Never seen the need for that particular oil. I hear mixed stories about it. I pay 10 bucks a quart for Eneos or Amsoil.
