I wonder how they will do this. If you check out the mugen one, you can replace the whole unit. Does this replace the shaft only? And if that is the case, I wonder how it will fair compared to the Mugen one that replaces the complete assembly...

I dunno, the price is right for the Skunk2 SS. I'm thinking the stock assembly is already pretty slick, a shorter shaft might be just do the trick. I am going to have to check out Illusive's Mugen SS next time.

Hey guys, to answer a couple questions: We came up with a simple solution for a short shifter for the fit. Instead of having to buy a whole new shiter and box assembly, we have a hardware kit that reduces throw by 22% and only costs a fraction of other kits.
Skunk2 Short Shifter Adapter Kit
Skunk2’s innovative engineering has developed a cost effective short shifter solution that rivals all other competitors in performance per dollar. The skunk2 short shifter adapter for the Honda Fit is comprised of cadmium plated steel hardware and is designed to reduce shifting throw by 22%. This is achieved by adding a 17mm adapter to the bottom of the shifter and raising the shifter box to compensate. By maintaining the factory length on the upper portion of the shifter, no additional torque is required to shift between gears. *OEM assembly and skunk2 shift knob not included.
MSRP $59.85
These are now available through various Skunk2 dealers.

Here is a good question...what if I coupled my Mugen SS with this? Would that make it even shorter?!?! I mean theoretically, it should do the same thing with the Mugen SS. The assembly is the same, but Mugen shortened it by shortening the whole shifter and providing the assembly with it. With this on the Mugen one, you can shorten your shifts by a lot!!! Mechie Engg senses tingling
Or am I just out to lunch with this one?!?!?
Do you guys provide the extra clamp etc. for the install since you need to pry that bugger off as well as that clip looking thing to get underneath the shifter?
