20 posts to post in for sale?

Is this to discourage someone like me, who is looking to sell their fit, from just coming on and posting their car up? I love my fit, but I'm not so much a car enthusiast, but I figured people who are interested in fits might be interested in buying mine. If this forum is trying to be exclusive to enthusiasts, I'll understand. If not I'd really like to be able to offer my car to the people here.

Basically it's to stop people from spamming with a ton of postings and no real intentions of joining and actually contributing to the forum. I actually wish they would make them wait until at least 100 posts but that's just me.

On a side not most people on this site already have a Fit. You would have to be willing to part your car out to actually get some serious interest.

Ah, that's a good point. I'm trying to sell it fast due to a move to Japan soon, unfortunately it's looking more and more like I'm going to have to take the dealer's lousy offer for it. So I'll take any suggestions if anyone has one.

post to craigs lol.........

I was also wondering about that 20 post before able to post for sale or classifieds thankx, on the other note about the 100 posts, that would honestly suck for a lot of ppl

I ended up selling my prior car on Craigslist but I had it posted on EBay at the same time and got a bunch of nice bids within 12 hours. Ended up selling it to a guy from CL because I didn't want to wait the extra days-- but you can put a 3 day auction up on EBay. With photos posted the whole thing cost me under ten bucks.

I'd say it's not so much that it's about enthusiasts, or even solely about trying to prevent spammers, i think part of it is about trying to building a community and not just providing a 1-time service.

If you're serious about selling, it is very easy to get to 20 posts.

i think the 20 limit is low. Another forum im on its 50 post AND been there for 3 months. personly for me I never even like to buy/sell from someone that has not been on a forum very long

ClubCivic used to be 200 posts and 6 months minimum to post in the classifieds forum, period. I thought that was a good rule for selling, not buying so much.

Good lawd. That cray. S2ki requires all who post threads to be a paid member. I view that as dumb, fo real.

It prevents all the stupid 1 post users from coming on and posting something that never gets checked again. I don't see what's so bad about it.

Maybe you can check out the wasteland or postwhore thread v2. Find a topic to contribute to, post some pics you will have 20 posts in no time and we get a chance to meet you and your fit!

It's very easy to make 20 posts. If that's too much work, you can always go to Craigslist.
