3rd gen 6mt swap into 2nd gen 5mt
Has anyone done this, or know if it is possible. I know there would need to be some changes, like the clutch disc and the pressure plate, and possibly the flywheel. Just wondering if it would have any benefit, fuel mileage, quicker pickup, etc.

Knope,
Adding some tech info to go with your trans drawings.
Just for reference on the ,"longer final drive." I think the big gripe among the GK guys was that Honda screwed up and didn't change the final drive ratio. They only tightened up a few ration in between.

There is a thread on here somewhere, and a person was talking about reaching out to a gear maker or trans builder type of place and seeing what it would take to get a real 6th gear
Additional topic:
I went from a 2015 6spd to the 2018 CVT, and I am convinced that the fake 7spd paddle shifters have the fake 3-6th gears set up to mimic the true 6mt cars, then when I hit 7th the rpms drop again, then when you knock it to drive and out of sport, the rpms drop yet again. Whatever the ratio the CVT is using to act like it has a 7th gear would make for an amazing 6th in a true manual car.

Same here, I find myself often second-guessing that shift to 6th. A 7th gear, true "overdrive" gear for the highway would be nice, or in reality just a taller 6th gear. It feels like it needs it.

And the dif ratio? Would change everythig, even with no changes in gears ratio...
