What did you do to your GK Fit today?

Got my Fit back from the repair shop. Couple of months back a guy rear ended another guy which pushed him into me and stamped my rear bumper with their license plate. Had the whole bumper replaced. Spent a whole week with a '16 Sentra and... it was a bit boring. I'm glad to have my little Fit back.

Did this yesterday, actually...obtained the radio code for my LX, since it was sold to me CPO but no code anywhere. Called the Honda dealer, a helpful dude tried walking me through the steps but my phone linked to the car and I couldn't see the screen I was supposed to be seeing. Called back again, another dude, not as helpful, tolde me the same steps and the radio serial # should pop up....I said it didn't, and he told me then, after battery replacement/power disconnect, all I needed to do was press and hold the power button for several seconds after power restore. But I Dug into the various menus, playing around a bit, and there was an info menu that had an 8 digit # Isuspected might be the radio serial. Wrote that down, went to the Honda owner's site with that # and the VIN, and it gave me a radio. SOOOO, maybe the guy is wrong about just holding the power button (what kind of "anti-theft is that?), but, I feel better, beings as I don't want to be left with no audio after interrupting power for whatever reason. He also had suggested some interior bits could be removed to read the serial number on the radio, but....that's too much like work

Since the headlight / fog light led replacement went so well, does anybody have a recommend replacement for LED brake / turn signal / parking lights they can suggest? I know these will require some resistors in line.

Did you use white leds behind the amber shell or an amber light ? I do have some left over from my interior conversion i can pop in.
I don't think the rears are led (i need to pop them off to see) because car bulb replacement sites recommenced me normal bulbs to pop in there 2016 EX

I just use a white one since that was what I had on hand. It's not the most orange, but it works fine.
When I was replacing the backup lights with LED, I didn't see a plug for the rear running lamp but I could have missed it.

I just came across that item yesterday.
About a month ago I installed a generic boot collar from eBay, but every once in a while it comes loose.
This is now on my to-do list.
Looks great!

Installed a Bosch AGM 51R battery in our '15 EX. The plastic battery tray in ours was designed for the 151R but as we know the 51R fits fine even with that tray, a minute with sheetmetal sheers took care of the lip the comes up on the end of the plastic tray and the 51R now fits great.
It's a bit more reassuring for me to have the larger 51R battery, that 151R looked like a motorcycle battery. I'm a decent size guy at 6 ft 200 lbs, but I'm certainly not the strongest guy in the world and it's not a good sign when I can palm and carry a battery with one hand without a carry handle, without struggle. lol

Also decided it was time for an mtf change. I was at 44k miles on original fluid, was quite easy thanks to some helpful insight from USDM.
To drain, you just stick the end of your 3/8 drive ratchet directly into the drain plug, tap it with the ball of your fist if its stubborn.
Filling is easy with a quart bottle pump, took a hair over 1.5 quarts, the fill plug is a 17mm bolt just to the right of where the drivers side axle plugs into the casing.
I drove up on 2x4s and jacked up from the center point behind the undertray, and placed jack stands at the two points behind the rear wheels, use chalks on the rear wheels of course, and make sure you level out the car before you fill (i just jacked from the tow hook until level, then filled) or it wont accept the full amount.
Shifting feels 10x better. If you are near or over 40k miles CHANGE it. Honda recommends what i believe is far too long a change interval. Should be closer to 30k. Heres my old stuff, shifting was getting notchy, and stubborn getting into 1st from a dead stop. Thats now 100% gone, slips right in every time.

Looking good! I haven't seen too many GK5s finished in Milano Red!
I'm glad Honda has kept this color around for as long as they have because it's timeless.
