Yea.. what were they doing with this shell?

In the US for NHRA you don't need a chute till you are running 9.99sec or 150mph in the quarter..

You would only need 650whp or so to break 9s in this car. I'm not sure why you'd want rhd though.

Bump for a good deal. I'd buy if I didn't already have a fit.

"Only" 650whp is the understatement of the year

When you consider that world wide there is only one Fit over 400fwhp (Indonesia) that I can find, and the only L-Series engine over 500fwhp is Bisi's CRZ. And that is a sleeved block with a worked LEA head being fed by a >70lb/min turbo. If you have the money you could buy the engine parts to do it of course. But that is likely ~10k worth of motor you are looking at.

Theoretically yes you are right on the money, by numbers 650whp/2500lbs could do it if the track, car and driver are up to it..

Something like 28" slicks would be able to put the power down but then you would need everything else required to keep the drivetrain from blending itself into a powder. Everything between the crank and the wheel hubs would be toast.

Then you would have to pass tech. Which would require, among other things, a 10/12pt DOM cage.

Not saying it is not possible or that you are wrong, but that is quite a project to take on. I know firsthand, that is what I am trying to do with my Laser.

200mph in the standing mile for most cars in our class results in a high 9 @ 145+ in the 1/4. Doing that at an NHRA track is expensive.

Lol I didn't mean Lseries. Kseries is capable of over 700whp on the stock bottom end.

Hmm I know a guy who ran a stock longblock K20 to 621whp for over a year, it actually just went boom recently

So I could see 700whp on a "factory freak"

There are 1000whp B18's now Not stock I should point out.. in case I needed to lol

It helps that my buddy is the best kseries tuner in the nation(my opinion). He made 650whp on his and it never blew up, and 740whp on another friends. The 740whp one just recently threw a rod though.

Very nice!

Any chance you could share some links, pics or start a thread on that?

The guys I know of did it out of his garage while he was building up another block and DD'd it abusing it the whole way.

I think a failed injector in cyl #3 was its demise. I have pictures and dyno graphs in the Wasteland section..

This way we don't clutter kelso's thread any further..
