TW: Alpine head unit

I have an Alpine IVA-W205 head unit I'm thinking about selling. This is a double din unit with a 6.5" display in perfect condition that supports the following formats.

CD , DVD , CD-R , CD-RW , DVD+R , DVD-R , DVD+RW , DVD-RW , Video CD , DVD-Audio, MP3, WMA. It will support iPod/iPhone with an optional cable.

Here's the cnet review that gives it high marks and deservedly so. The head unit is rock solid, not a single glitch. I'm still a radio kind of guy but have played audiocd's and mp3/wma disks about 25% of it's hours. Just a couple dvd's played on it.

Why am I wanting to sell it? I also purchased the blackbird II portable navigation system that will plug into the unit behind the display and provide on-board navigation. It will also work as a standalone unit with a windshield mount so you can use it in different vehicles. Great concept, thoroughly crappy implementation. The nav unit has been nothing but trouble after about 6 months. Works fairly well as a standalone but is unworkable inside the unit. Always loosing satellite lock, won't initialize, it's just junk. Replaced it under warranty and the replacement has the same problems.

I want an in-dash nav system that actually works so I'm looking to replace this unit. It's installed in a scosche double din kit that fits the perfectly, so you will need one of these to install the headunit.

I'm not expecting to get a premium for this, the pricing I've seen for these still available on the web are around $560 minimum. It's replacement model with built-in nav is $1k

I have all the original packaging, user manual and remote.

Let me know what you think, if all you want is a good head unit, make me an offer and you might get lucky!

Going to back that this is an AWESOME head unit. I was one of the first people to buy one in Oct. of 07 and I havent had any problems with it. I absolutely love this head unit.

Good luck with the sale, man.

Thanks for posting the pic, I should have linked to the image in the headunit thread. This shows the nav unit running which is not included 'cause its a piece 'o crap, see the first post for details.

Here's what it looks like in the fit with a scosche kit.

I believe in full disclosure, the blackbird navigation unit qualify's as a POC. It's removed and the unit it rock solid without it.
