I want to get led's into my headlights but I'm not good with wiring and all that stuff
Would a first timer be able to set this up?

the wiring itself isn't hard. the difficult part is sealing the headlight back up.

Sorry, but i will NOT be doing a DIY on the R8 Headlights. Honestly, I want to be the only one with them. However, feel free to try it yourself.

I've got square LED modules with 4 LED's on them. I've got them drilled and taped to the INSIDE of the sideskirt and therefore, you can't see them.

Hey can u explain the installation a bit? Because I'm not familiar with any wiring so I want to see how practical the install is. Thanks!

It's actually REALLY easy. WHat you've got is the LED strip with two prongs sticking out. Those two prongs connect to a wire harness (that is provided with EACH LED strip) There are also "+" and "-" signs all along the strip.

It's REALLY easy! You can't screw it up!

Sounds good, where would I access the car's wire harness? I guess that seems to be the puzzling part to me, if I would need to take apart door panels or something.

Thanks.

it's not that hard. all you have to do is take the body kit off and drill. It's super easy.

well, what you need to do is:
1) take off the sideskirt
2) Space out 4 LED modules evenly
3) mark where they're supposed to be
4) either - A) tape and drill them on the OUTSIDE of the sideskirt (they will then be visible)
- B) drill 4 holes where the LED's will fit on the INSIDE of the sideskirt (they will NOT be visible)

The only way i can show you is if i do another set of them or take mine off. Seeing how it's snowing like a bastard here, i won't be doing any car stuff until it starts to warm up.

The LED modules will be $12/module + shipping

DId i do a glove box DIY??? I can't remember if i did. But yes, what you have to do is:

1) Cut the LED strip to the proper size
2) Extend the wires (power and ground)
3) Find a CONSTANT 12 volts
4) Find a SWITCHED ground
- what i did was i make a bracket that screwed into the glove box dampner. Therefore, when the box is FULLY open, the light goes on.

If you open yoru glove box, you'll notice that it doesn't go BANG! There's a little rubber dampner. That dampner rests on a metal bracket. All i did was make another bracket that attaches to the dampner.
