Fit Clone > Mercedes A Class
#4
Compared to a NA Fit, it's 4" shorter, 2" wider and 3" taller. The first gen A Klasse came out before 2001, so maybe the Fit is the "A"s clone, but I think they're just independent examples of an "idea whose time had come".

Drove an A-Class for a couple of months and was one of the reasons I bought a Jazz (Fit).
The Jazz is better finished, far more powerful, has more flexible seating (I know you can remove the A-Class seats easily though) and is less than half the price. The Jazzes CVT is also better than the Mercs. The Merc is affected by crosswinds and needs electronic trickery in order to pass a moose test. Your paying for a 3 point star not a car.
I'm glad Merc made the A Class because it just makes the Jazz look even better.

No magic seats I presume? Don't like Mercedes anyway. I drove an S500 at a Road & Track sponsored event, and if it is representative of the company's pinnacle, then it's cheap looking/feeling luxury that sells for a lot more than its competitors: Audi A8 and BMW 745, which were all better finished on the inside, handled WAY better around tight turns and slalom, and cost 5 figures less than a Mercedes. 'Nuff said :p

Chrysler are sending us a new small car (Hornet) and are looking for a partner to build it.

Should we ask Dr. Z why Chrysler are not going to mother Germany for this car? No, we already know the reasons EUR-US$ exchange rates and in no way on God's green earth will you see a Benz under $20K US to ruin the image of the "three point star" on the American shores.
Well, there is the Sprinter.......

Hey guys, i think i saw one of these today at the local mall. I forgot the number that was on the back, but its like A 150 or A _(some 3 digit number)__. it's ugly, and only a brand name like mercedes can get away with it.
