I saw four drunk rednecks exit Kroger's with a case of beer under each arm.. They headed for a 4 wheel drive crew cab flat bed truck in a handicap parking space as a couple of cops in a squad car was slowing almost to a stop behind it.. The cops saw the Masonic medal and stickers on the bumper and rear window, smiled, waved at the guys and drove on by.... I have had cops walk to the front of my car to see if I have a parking placard hanging from my rear view mirror... We lost a good sheriff here and I don't know how many city cops for not catering to those guys.

Honestly if a cop wants to pull you over, he will find a reason. Aftermarket parts or not...

buddy of mine got out of a speeding ticket one day at lunch by dumping his iced tea in his lap, sweeping the ice onto the floor mat, then hopping out of the car and approaching the cop saying over and over that he just wanted to find a bathroom... cop didn't let him get close enough to smell him. bonus was he'd just picked up his dry cleaning and could change before going back to work... the dry cleaning was way cheaper than the ticket.

1) No "look at me" sh!t on your car,
2) NEVER use turn signals on the freeway if you're threading the needle
3) Stay out of the fast lane/carpool lane when speeding, the other cars will help block laser LOS unless the cop's on an onramp. Your laser detector doesn't do a damn thing for you except let you know you've been made, and it's time to start praying he doesn't come after you.
4) Decent Radar Detector (no, Cobra doesn't count)

I have gotten 1 speeding ticket in 15 years and it was by a motorcycle cop in a Las Vegas speed trap for doing 5 over on the street ON EASTER SUNDAY.

DISCLAMER: I condone none of this with the exception of #1, which really is the most important. Which is why it's #1.

Alternatively, you could just drive like a decent law-abiding citizen.

Radar detectors are legal in all states except VA, DC and military bases.
Here's a good reference: Radar Detector Laws By State - RadarBusters.com
