custom 49cc scooter build
So I got a pretty good deal on a used, wrecked...and pink...49cc chinese scooter. Over the next few weeks I'm going to make her look and ride much much better.
I topped her out at about 30 mph the other day, not too shabby for a bone stock 49cc and only about a quarter mile of flat straight road.
the day I brought her home:
broken taillight and rear fairings:
broken upper fairing and missing mirrors
I started today by removing the rear fairings and taillight. I'm working on mounting the custom tails and cleaning up the fram for welding and paint followed by a wire tuck. I'm going to go for a custom bobber/chopper look. yup. a bobber chopper scooter. mwahahahaha! pics tomorrow when it's light out again.

progress!
first day of working on removing the fairings:
then the other day I finished removing the fairings and got to work on some wiring issues:
and today my girlfriend and my puppah helped out with some sanding and painting:
As it sits now all the fairings are off, and they are staying off. I'm going for a street fighter look with bare frame and a wire tuck all around with custom headlights and taillights. Eventually I'll get the rear end stretch kit to fit a 150cc engine on it which will put me up to about 60-70mph. Pictures of the finished paint will be up in a couple days and hopefully it'll be road ready within the month.
