Simple Evo X

Hello FitFreak community! Just a new guy here who's looking around for the perfect Fit to pick up and definitely looking forward to getting to know the community through meets and gatherings. I seriously have a thing for Fits...one of my favorite cars, lol. In the meantime, I figured I'd share my other car...the reason why I need a DD - my 2008 Graphite Gray Evolution X GSR.

This car's been through a lot already unfortunately. The stock turbo blew after two months and three track days. We ended up tracing the problem back to a faulty weld on one of the fins that caused it to break off, literally shatter the other fins into hundreds of pieces and then everything proceeded to shoot through my motor. Besides pieces of scrap metal everywhere, this was the largest fragment I could find of one of my stock turbo fins.

Here are some other shots of us dumping black plastic/metal shavings out of my stock intercooler.

The inside of the upper pipe was completely covered and caked in more black plastic/metal shavings.

There's more pics of the damage somewhere on my computer but in the end, I said "F*ck this. I'm calling Mike."

A few weeks later, I got the motor back from Cosworth...we dropped it in and here's what it looks like now.

The rest of the car has a little bit of something from everyone - Varis, ARC, D-Luck, etc. It's definitely still a work in progress and I have soooo many parts lying around that I need to get on but I can't because I don't have a DD anymore, lol. For example...full cage sitting around, meth injection, Esprit Wing and more.

The majority of these pictures are old but I'm too lazy to take new ones and I have a photoshoot with Lisa Fleming coming up so I'm just waiting for that. Here are some miscellaneous shots.

Nitto NT05's...the sidewall on these are actually a bit too stiff and coupled with my spring rates, I'm definitely looking to swapping these out asap for something with a softer compound. Still...they are amazing tires with a real progressive feel and awesome grip in dry conditions.

I know it isn't a Fit but I just wanted to share. I'm really hoping to join the FF community soon with an actual car that belongs here, lol. Thanks for viewing and the community here is waayyyyy better than most other car forums. :P

Yea, the stock tune was terrible. Even a quick tune on the stock motor with no bolt-ons will yield you a good 25-30 whp and around 20 lbs/tq...it's pretty sad. My Map 1 pushes around 420whp/425tq. It's pretty easy to make power with the new 4B11.

I actually had an 8 before as well. I still prefer the older Evo's...much more raw and the power band was better in mid-range but after my motor work and tune, I'm starting to like my 10 a lot more.

Cool yea alot of evo owners were sceptical of the 4b11 when it came out. I really would love to find a unmolested WW 9 for sale. Nice numbers for sure i would love a 10 as well with that power. But i would still say i love the 10 looks the best out of the 8,9 and 10. Some day i will be back in that game when i have a little extra cash

To be honest, I was one of those that stood in the 4G63 camp and bitched about the new motor for months, lol.

It's almost impossible to find an unmolested Evo these days. :( And +1 about the extra cash. I'm going broke modding this thing the way I want it done.

i never give out compliments unless i mean it. so you are welcome haha.
your amuse exhaust is awesome! i went to the amuse garage when i was in japan and their shop was amazingly clean. my buddy has an ARC exhaust on his evox but i like the sound of the amuse better.

Some updated pics of the new sideskirts. I swapped out the Jun side diffusers for some Varis sides plus Varis side diffusers. When I get a DD, I can put the low ass front bumper on with the lip, diffuser and canards, hehehe.

Hijacking this thread!

I'm hijacking this thread with my own shots of zer0dds's Evo X. I'm not a Fit owner so I'm ready to get flamed. But please excuse my thread hijack as I am a former Honda-enthusiast: I've owned 2 DC2 Integras- one of them being a legitimate Type R (with like 5 pages of mods), and a B18C1 swapped EG :) Please dismiss my "Euro ignorance" as I'm a genuine fan/freak of the Honda Fit at heart and I secretly still wish to own one (perhaps soon even).

But for now here's my shameless plug for zer0dds:
