Seeking Advice on New Fit Purchase

I was interested in purchasing either a 2010 Sport or Base Fit (manual transmission). In the current market environment and type of car, how much below invoice can I possibly get this car for (excluding tax and tag)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I also see slightly different invoice prices listed. I will be purchasing the car in CA.

1) you should probably ask this in general fit .. or 2nd gen fit forum... maybe a mod will move it.
2) there are a lot of topics on this sort of thing, so you might want to search for them and read through them
3) most likely lots of people will tell you -- "there isn't much room for negotiation" .. you might be able to get a better deal if you went for an unsold 2009 once the lots are full of 2010s..
4) People are of course going to suggest that you check edmunds, kelley, etc. etc. and do internet price requests, etc.

BTW, if you live in Brooklyn (I'm assuming NY..) why are you buying in California?? Gonna drive it all the way back cross-country?

my 2010 FIT Sport finally came in today after waiting for a month. we talked the price down to 15,800, however i got the lo jack and warranty on it. so after taxes, the total came out to 19k. however, if i was just to purchase the sport with no accessories it would have only ran me roughly 16 something.

Thanks

Moving to CA in January from NY. I wanted to know what was really possible given the popularity of the car yet the state of the economy. I was told that even $500 below invoice was possible if they have it on the lot.

Once the car price gets to $20,000 we might as well consider an SUV type vehicle.
