Suspension noise troubleshoot (91 Accord LX)

Hey fit freakers,

I have a 1991 Accord LX (CB7) with pretty low mileage that has been well maintained and is all stock except some minor audio changes and whatnot. However I have noticed lately that my suspension seems to be making alot of noise going over speed bumps, rough roads, etc. Is this common for older cars? Or is this an indicator of bad springs/shocks? The noises can be described as creaking noises as well as "knocking", they seem fairly loud granted the sound dampening is not that great on this vehicle. The noise does seems to diminish as the car warms up but it remains even after driving around quite a bit.

Is this something that can be fixed with some aftermarket springs / shocks?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Where is the noise coming from? I had an 82 Accord that turned out to have a bent locating tube for one of the rear struts, probably caused by previous owner running over something large. It was fairly easy to remove the tube, straighten it, and re-attach. Don't know if the 92 uses the same suspension design, but it's worth checking if the noise seems to be coming from the rear.

Replace endlinks and lube your sway bar bushings using white lithum grease.

If you don't have a sway, no idea.

it might me these causes:

1. excessive clearance in a joint due to wear
2. loose strut gland nut
3. shrunken, dried-out rubber bushing

you can check out on those..

The noise appears to come from the front and rear. I suppose it is possible something was damaged going over a pothole. Should i just pick up a Haynes manual and examine the suspension components?
