Are the S2k's "fast" though... I know they have a 4cyl. in em, but it's not turbo or anything right? They look like they'd haul ass but I dont know about that.... Leg room may come in to play with a S2k also, im 6'4 and I have long legs.

They are fast but not as fast as the V8's and from what I've read it's very fun to drive and has 50/50 weight distribution. I've always wanted one but with the economy, I'm holding myself from getting one. I would suggest to test drive one.

what's all this about the fit being slow on the freeway's and what not?

The way people complain about it, it sounds like theres a problem with the car....??

I want a fit or a 2010 VW Golf tdi because they are cheap/good gas/dependable.... and I'd like to put more of my money into other things than a car....such as, new tv * other electronics, motorcycles...etc.

well fit's are slow but what do you expect out of 110-120 crank hp......so yeah they're slow but they handle great, great mpg's, and you can fit a house in em.

My AP1 was almost like that but I had 149lb of torque. My AP2 is 145lb torque and 204hp and it's stock.... I really cant' believe that's the graph of an AP2 with I/H/E..... well actually I want to correct myself... if you had a spoon exhaust you actually lost hp....haha

Had an '85 GTI for 10 years, it was a great, fun, reliable car, and my new Fit is very reminiscent of it, although the GTI had more torque, and a quicker 0 - 60 time.

At some point in the '90's, VW's reliability took a big hit, and a lot of the cars they turned out thru the 90's and into the 00's had a lot of problems.

I believe they've gotten a handle on the reliability issue, but I'm not sure. Test drive a GTI, if you like it, I'd check out Consumer Reports car guides, and any place else that gives reliability reports, and see how they've been rated for the last 5 years or so.

You listed the 06-07 wrx with great amount of rattles. I'm curious if you've even owned a stock one....Mine sure as hell didn't rattle or squeak when it was stock.

Also...i wouldn't take a dyno sheet for any consideration when buying a car. IMO...s2k's are one of the best handling cars out there with the right amount of "umph"

evo 8...u can get them with 30-50k miles for around 15-17k...throw another 1500-2 grand at em and you have 300-330whp. with a decent driver thats a mid-high 12 second car that has good street manners and gets decent gas mileage.

or if you want a sleeper, i had an 06 tiburon that i supercharged, you can pick them up for 4-6k now and get a used alpine kit for 1500, 2000 with supporting mods (injectors, motor mounts, safc, etc)...i made 263whp at 7psi with my stage 2 setup (smaller pulley and liquid to air cooler). with slicks you could run low 13's and for roll racing (on a closed track of course lol...) you can walk a whole lot of other cars out there...
