Yikes!

It would appear the government, in all it's ineffable wisdom, changed the clunkers list last night.

I hope this doesn't bite anybody here. The article is making it sound like the dealers would have to eat the $4,500, but who knows.
I'm not really sure what they are going to do about that one, Selden posted about it here:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...tml#post706474

And Warner posted here:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/othe...tml#post707039

I added in a link to the page with the ones that went up and went down:

It may end up having a few problems, the program. But, by golly, now was NOT the right time for the EPA to change things. Potential legal suits from consumers and/or dealers. Both of whom acted in good faith, did their deals, checked and double checked the Fuel Economy site, only to have the government turn it down???

I kept most of this over in this thread, as it pertains to the rules of Clunkers. Although the threads kind of intermingle, with conversations going on in both.

This thread and this one are mostly about rules and wondering if one qualifies:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...fit-owner.html

Then I made the other thread for the afterwords, to talk about the dealer experience, what was traded, any problems during the process, etc.

Kind of a nice landing spot too for new members who want to join in. It looks like there ARE a lot of new members joining here too, with the program.

If only I would shut up.

But I can't.

Because I feel somehow I HAVE to be the hostess for any thread I start and have to be sure to talk to each and every person that posts there, and then respond to everything everyone says.

And then I miss someone, due to something silly like sleeping, and I feel guilty.

That's not too bad. You might also have the option of refinancing in a year or so, with another company to save in that interest. As your credit score increases over time, you showing you can make your payments on time and pay off the credit card, etc.

Try to work on getting the remaining amount owed to being less than blue book value, and refinancing might be very possible.
