Future Fit Competitors
This thread is just on discussing how the auto world is competing with the FIT in America and discussing the pros and cons or similarities with future cars that we will be sharing the road with in the future.
FIAT: is now bringing some vehicles over to America including the Grande Punto which will have 1.2l 4 cyl which accelerates 0-62 in 13.2 seconds
2010 Ford Fiesta
This will have a 1.3 and 1.4l projected MPG of 40!
Please add to this thread of more stats

Well since FIAT & Chrysler merged, the punto would be possible. Just think of it as the Dodge omni, since that was originally a foreign car. But I still think the Fit will outsell both of them here all the way. But then there's the Suzuki Swift I question that car.

Looks like the fiesta/mazda 2 will come to na with the 1.6 gas engine. 120hp/112tq not a bad little engine.

I can't imagine the Fiesta won't sell pretty well, considering what they do with the car on the road test here:

From my point of view the proposed competitors look no better than the existing Fit competitors. If they were to have a more spacious body with just as good of 360 degree visibility, or better, they might give me pause.
As it is right now, Honda has me at the test drive. Even my aunt's Ford Focus has nothing on the Fit, auto paddle shifter or stick shift. Yes, the competition may have space inside, but it is not the same kind of space that the Fit has.
Performance 0-60 is not as important to me as reliablity, durability and fuel economy. I prefer to not need warp factor 8 to merge with traffic as a regular daily tactic.

or throw on a high-boost KWSC or a T1R/HKS turbo and then race. a boosted fit vs. a boosted colt is no contest. the fit will out handle it on a track.

Grande Punto? Seriously?
Call me immature, but that sounds a little too similar to a cuss word... and to add Grande in front of it is just funny!
What would you call the female version? *snicker*
(My car came from Fresno too! Hi neighbor)

Another person from Fresno, wow. Didn't realize their was such a local presence on this forum.
My car is from the Fresno area (Honda North), but I'm from the Merced area. I lived in Fresno for a few years around 2002, I think it was.
I've noticed a fair amount of Fits in Merced, but I have yet to see anyone on this forum.

the 2010 VW Golf.
1.6 liter with a twin-charged engine( super in the lows, turbo + super in the high rpm's ), 7spd DSG +AWD
supposedly its MPG isn't too damaged by these either.
sweet raptor jesus get me some.
