Car magazines to buy
Hi,
My brother is coming from US, so he will buy me some car magazines, so any good new issues to buy, doesn't have to be related with Fit, but interesting. I was thinking of modified and super street and maybe sport compact. Any ideas.

Honda Tuning has its moments though. The issue I have has a 4 page write up on a SSM Fit and also a Fit K20 Swap How To. I found it quite interesting.
I am losing faith in Sport Compact Car. The last few issues have been rather thin.

well to be honest, it depends on what you want out of the mag. if your looking for great tech and featured cars, i would say dsport and sport compact. def honda tuning for its direct market and application possibly to you. super street is good for snitzengiggles and the cars are usually phenomenal but a lot of dick and fart jokes. what the hell is hyphy anyway. ive been reading most of the source interlink mags and modified pre and post merger have been consistent and a good all around mag. hci is good but i wouldn't get it. most def top three honda tuning, scc, dsport. import tuner is consistent and will be a good go to mag for the fourth position. my two cents. ibe been reading all these mags plus euro since like 98. id give you all my mags but i gave them to my mechanic. good luck and happy tuning

i would say most of the source interlink mags have thinned out since the sale from primedia. i would love to take a pic and show you how fast they have thinned out. i would also throw turbo in there too. kind of thin but great tech.

i recommend Sport Compact Car, yeah its thinned out but i say its got the highest quality writeups and reviews of any magazine out there, as well as Car and Driver<my second fave. Those are prolly my two favorites Motor Trend also isn't bad but they complain about weird stuff and review kind of like normal people want not car enthusiasts, anyone understand what i just said? Other than SCC i think most tuning magazines are just basically ricer porn:)

import tuner and super street are morons. they aer competing in the Castrol Super Tuner challenge (i think thats what it's called) and eurotuner is using an audi engine. They said euro's have no idea how to make power and proceeded to bring up Bugatti and Lamborghini both of which are OWNED by Volkswagen Audi's owner. What a bunch of idiots all they do is rice out cars for a living. Rant over.
Also SCC still does the best technical write ups and actually showcases real cars that get driven hard, such as the R34 they featured which had a very scraped up front lip. I'd say that that's AWESOME!

the surprising thing is,.....without mentioning names... alot of these writers grew up in so. pas. most didn't even have a fixed up car in high school, but talk like they did in the mag.

I recommend 0-60 mag and Grassroots Motorsports mag. Great magazines, filled with a ton of useful info, great articles, great pictures, etc. They aren't specialized to just one area of the car world either. They don't come out monthly either, I feel like with a lot of the specialized magazines that come out every month are very repetitive and get boring after a while.
