24?
Is that true? I also heard the smart requires premium. Aesthetically I don't mind the smart but those two facts are definite dealbreakers.

toyata!
So am I. I was a toyota fan LOOOOONG before I considered a Honda. My 85 MR2 is still my favorite car of all time. Competition can only help the micro car scene. I despise GHW Bush but I'm going to quote him "bring it on"! Honda and Toyota fighting it out can only help the consumer.

Probably before they start sending me money for ideas. LOL!
I already sent Honda a note on making an ultra-small 2-seater, hybrid, cheap in price auto.
Something that competes directly with Smart car, and this iQ, with Honda's reliability.
It's time has come, for many reasons. Check out this funny article in Men's Vogue for the Smart:
http://www.mensvogue.com/design/articles/2008/04/smart
Don't miss the slideshow:
Slideshow: How the Smart Car stands up in the streets of New York: Tech: mensvogue.com
City parking is awful. City commuting is awful. Making an ultra-small Honda would make so much sense. Honda USED to make small cars:
1975 Honda Civic CVCC Vintage Print Ad
I had one like that briefly. Here again:
Motoring J Style: Daily Driven: 1975 Honda Civic CVCC
What happened? Everything got bigger, heavier, consuming more gas, stuffing in more luxury. Those images in that blog are typical San Francisco houses. Short driveways next to each other, very small spots to park on street.
There are areas that have no garages and many apartments, so that everyone has to park on the street, and backpack in to where they live. LOL!
My FIT would be too long for that spot where the CVCC is. It would overhang into the red zone and/or other people's driveways.
Probably the biggest reason is cost. The small car will cost close to what the larger car costs. Then the problem is like the Smart car, why would I pay about the same amount for the Smart when I can have the FIT? Which is EXACTLY what reviewers of the Smart car said...don't buy the Smart car because you can have the FIT for about the same cost and have a much better car.
But if the ultra-small car was a HONDA...with HONDA reliability...then it would be a tough choice!
