One of the radio shows also said this only works with premium fuel...sounds
more like a scam perpetuated by the fuel industry to sell more premium fuel.

There was a guy on Edmond's that owned a company with a fleet of cars and trucks that was using it in his vehicles and swore by it as improving fuel mileage and lowering operating cost.... No One seemed to believe him though.
Using it in a car without a catalytic converter will turn off your CEL if your O2 sensor is in place in the down pipe.

I found this on the net. It seems Mythbusters tested this and it did not work.
You would think if it actually worked, the Gas companies would use it or someone would market it as a gas additive.

I tried it in my '07 Sport Fit for about 6 months or about 20,000 miles...I saw no difference. I tried it at different concentrations also. I don’t do it any more. I also have every record of every drop of gas that put in that car (with the mileage) and every bit of maintenance that was done to that car since new (it had 13 miles on it when I picked it up)…I have excellent maintenance records for that car. It does absolutely nothing. I’ve got over 150,000 on the car right now…the day before yesterday, the CEL came on. I took it to the dealer and it say the catalytic converter is bad. They cleared it and the light has not come on again yet…I wonder if I had fu©#ed it up by doing the acetone thing…
