2009 Ford Focus RS

Why does Europe get to play with this 300bhp beast while we get the most retarded-looking Focus to date?

I would sell my Fit for this, no doubt about it.

Definitely on your own. I wouldn't drive a squashed Ford pea for anything.

there has to be SOMEONE besides me who thinks this is the sexiest 2door hatchback ever made. This is exactly why Ford doesn't import their good shit like the Mondeo. People don't know good cars here in America! The Fit stands alone so far and surprised the hell out of me with how well it's been selling. I would like to know what negative things you have to say about the Focus. It kicks the piss out of the SVT that was badass for the year or two it was sold here...

It is pretty ugly I would have to see it in other colors. Green cars FTMFL!!!!! ( unless it is a big truck and then only a darker green looks good )

oh so it's just the color you guys don't like lol bright green happens to be my favorite color so that might be why I see it in a different light than you all. Hmm. Still, the performance factor should outweigh your distaste of its color!!

I don't think it looks that appealing, but I would for sure love to drive it. I've seen the Focus on WRC and it's pretty mean. Not as mean as a WRX though :)

This is a very cool car, and i normally hate fords. But this is probably going to be a $40,000 plus car. Would you pay that much for it? According to the ford uk site, their 225 hp Focus is 19,995 pounds, which is $35,000 us dollars. I'd like to see how this compared to an STI or an Evo X...thats its competition.

Thats just the price for that market. The conversion rate doesn't mean anything at all if it was sold here.

If they do bring it here, I think it would be about the same price in dollars.

So Ford sells us a 140hp Focus here for 17,900 loaded, and you think they would then sell us a 225 hp version for 2,000 more? If so, sign me up. Sign me up on the not gonna happen list.

issues?

I actually like the color and don't hate the car in general. The problem is due to it's ford heritage (dependability). It'll have 400 switches inside which, after five years, 100 (if you're lucky) of which will still work. A lot of cool cars never hit US shores because of the US's nightmarish bullshit with doing business.

I loved the original Focus RS:

That one looks kinda like a prototype, if it was a little more refined I'd definitely be interested in it. I prefer European styling to Japanese and American.

I don't see how that's so hard to believe. It's practically civic si territory. But of course America would get the watered-down version.

But you're right, they won't import it here.

There are compromises between a fully loaded car and a car designed more around performance. Look at the Civics, An EX-L with Navi retails more than the Si non-Navi. Yet you get 59 more HP, better suspension, a limited slip etc.

It's not that hard to believe.
