Honda Prius?

Spy pics of the next Insight. Why does it look so much like a Prius...I really hate that hatchback styling with the high rear end...ugh

Spied: 2010 Honda Insight hybrid

It probably looks like a prius so that Honda will be able to keep the design as secret as possible.

the article says it'll take some styling cues from the FCX Clarity. if it looks anything like the FCX, it's design will be far from Toyota's caterpillar on wheels.

Why does it have three windshield wipers on it?

I believe it's the result of wanting a five door hatchback with maximum aerodynamic design - the wind tunnel is just going to make them all look similar.
Also didn't Prius rip off the second gen CRX anyhow?

not so sure about the back but i think the front will look pretty good, the bumper reminds me of the accord sedan. Also i like the bumper signal lights in the front! Brings me to the 94-97 Accord that my sister owned, hence Accordguyintake :D

I hope it's got magic seats!!!
I would consider replacing my daily driver '04 Outback with this.

Toyota Prius Killer!- Yahoo! Autos Article Page

I can tell Honda already, boost up the A/C in the car and add spring rate to the rear coil springs so it won't sag when you add people, literature, stereo items, etc.

Bleh...

Late 2009??!?

If it really can deliver 50+ and only cost 19,000, that means you would make up the difference in fuel vs. the Fit in about 2 years...

Makes me want to wait and not even get a Fit... And here I have been waiting for months for the 2009 Fit to come out... I don't want to wait another entire year!!

That looks cool. I would buy it! Espescially if it got 71 MPG like they said it could.

I'm interested in one. I didn't like the Prius when it first came out. Now I've seen so many of them, it doesn't look ugly anymore.

they design the rear end that way because it has to compensate the space for the hv battery

exactly. and i wouldn't really call this a successor to the insight.

not to mention it'll look more like the clarity than the prius. (but yeah, it still has a similar 'look' to it.) i like how its wearing the 09 fit sports wheels too.

You could just as easily say that it looks like a pontiac aztec :-p

I, personally, will wait until hybrids start comming with lithium batteries, until then they just arnt that much better... And you cant just bring your broken hybrid down to your indie mechanic... expensive repairs at the dealer. The day when hybrid windows stickers start saying 80 MPG city, i will be there

Holy crap the rear does look like a prius. I'm not much of a fan but... hey, if it gets THAT much MPG, i'm sure it'll sell.

It looks like the bastard child of the Accord and the CRX. Oh, someone had asked why the three wipers. There is only two in the front. The arm on the pass side is just retarded long for some reason.
