Getting a new car...

Alright guys, (and girls if there's any here). My wife's old car broke down and it's not worth reviving it again. We have to get it within the next month and a half. If I had my choice, we'd get the '09 fit, but it's not available yet. The cars we were thinking about are the new XB, civic, mazda 3, and the focus. Alright everyone, I want everything from fuel economy to drive comfort to styling to be discussed. Also, try to keep it between these vechiles, suggestions are welcome (and I'll edit this post if I like them).

That's a good field of choices, and all pretty good cars. The one thing i sould do is throw the Focus out of the mix. They are absolutely hideous now. I will do some more research and come back to this thread.

BTW: If any of you are going to post Civic just because it's another HONDA I would encourage finding some sort of evidence that it is the better choice.
-I hate that- lol

Out of your choices i would say civic or the scion. The focus's arent that bad but Ford is falling apart and Mazda's arent really all that great anymore either imo. Why not a fit? My wife has an 08 sport auto and she loves it. You can have 2 fits for the family. It works out alot better then you would think. I had to add the option atleast:D

Agreed, but the MazdaSpeed3 is one bad little car. Of course completely off topic -sorry-.

get an 08 fit then* what did you expect in a fit forum? :3* you'll get a really good deal right now, and you'll only have to learn how to service one type of car.

What trim are you thinking for your choices? Or price range. I am looking, but I am not sure what I am looking for exactly. lol

Might want to check out the Scion xD also. Pretty nice, and great price.

Coming from a former Ford Focus owner. Don't get a Focus. I would choose either the Scion or the Civic.

maybe it's just me, but i hate the styling of the new xB. if i were in the market for a car, i'd rather get a late-model xB than the new one. i've owned 2 fords, they both broke down before their 8th birthdays. don't get a ford. between the civic and the mazda, i'd actually have to recommend the mazda. it's a peppy little car. get the manual and i don't think you'll be disappointed.

they're too long and too round. the xB is supposed to be small and square. the new design appeals to older buyers; the xB has become less of a youth car, and more of a low-income middle-aged driver's car.

yeah the new xbs are just ugly.

i love the bb man. the older models are soo sexy.

the new one has too many round curves to be box. the front the back are ugly. that reverse light is just pure ugly status.

out of all your cars i too would rock the mazda 3. im a fan of those, ive seen a couple of those fixed up. they are nice.

but why dont you just get an 08 fit?

goddam, don't get the mugen civic. that would be such a waste of money. if you're gonna spend 35,000, get an S2000. but that's off topic because you're not looking at them.

i don't see how anything that gets 285 hp can get 28 mpg, even under the best circumstances.
