Eh... I'm not into the whole badge thing, but I'll give you my straight out opinion. If Honda was really serious about the whole badge thingy, wouldn't they make more color bages such as green to signify enviromental friendly, blue for family sedan, red for racing...blah blah blah? Yellow badges if you're asian? j/k Besides that, I wouldn't get a red badge cuz it wouldn't look right with my car's color anyways. Also, what's the point of calling out "rice" on modded car that don't race? So if I get JDM lights, visors, and a set of aftermarket wheels, I would be labled "riced" because I don't race? All fits are supposed to be stocked because there's no Type-R fits, and modding without a Type-R badge will make them "riced"?

WHO CARES WHATS RICE AND NOT! do what you like. There are clean cars, and there are ugly cars. Everyone will have their own opinion on what is nice and what is ugly. Fix your car up the way you like it. I hate the rice vs jdm vs clean vs etc threads... gets us nowhere.
I think I agree with JDMChris on this one.

exactly what i was thinking.

actually, i thought it so much, i posted about this general concept a page back. ;)

idk if I whole-heartedly agree with it but in the end it's not my car and I'm not paying for it so do what you want really. Like RDS my biggest problem would be when people put them on their car then hypocritically call other cars rice when they mis-badge their cars as well; then it's just annoying.

As for not seeing your post: around page 2 this thread went to hell so I stopped really paying attention to it since it went off on so many tangents haha.

... it is just a red honda badge. The way I look at it is if your that worried about people doing the same thing as you then you need to "rice" your car out as they would say so you can stand out. I like the red badges but don't think I would ever put it on my car cause I like my car black and chromy. But, if I wanted to be really different I would think nothing of putting a giant red badge on my car even if it meant that I would be killing a symbol from another car.

To each his own and yes I may laugh at you if I think your car looks dumb or rediculous be i wouldn't be offended if someone did the same to me :/

i think if the red emblems makes your car look pretty thats fine.

we all know which cars are real type-r's and which are real RDS.

i'd like someone to put all the honda emblems in one line on their gate
and drive around. TypeSSirRDOHCVTECSMATICAWDCIVIC

I have Red Emblems. I like the way they look over the stock chrome. Of course I could not care less what anyone thinks when it comes to my Honda's. I have had 7 so far starting with my first a 79 Accord Hatchback.

Edit:

I just realized I have been modding Honda's for 18 years now. Not very many people can claim the same.

i think that's pretty much it.. most people put these red badges on because their preference that it looks good.. i don't think any has the intention or mindset that slapping one of these stickers on puts their car in a different level or meaning their badge to say car is faster.. misbadging debadging.. ?? it's a sticker.. a person could put a hello kitty sticker on their car.. if they like it.. and you don't.. why bash?..

i think red badges look better than the stock badge for the fit.. but don't want it jacked so thus i don't have it.. but again.. if i did put one on.. it doesn't mean i'm saying my car is a type R... or SI.. please.. hey my old altima i put a NISMO sticker on the gas cap and window.. i just liked the look.. STICKERS!! relax..

its about the watering-down of the image right? ;)

i kinda agree with soujiro, unlike a lot of civic or integra drivers (cars that do/have attracted a lot of arroz), the fit doesn't really get any of that, and most of us are just doing it for looks. And like we've already gone over, there is not fit type r to imitate either.

Arisenfury: i read something today that made me think, and will complicate this whole thing even more. Remember how we were talking about how this thread is ONLY about red H emblems and not the actual written word 'type-r' badge? I was on edmunds today reading a review for the brit.type r and one of the pictures was a close up of the red H badge.

The caption read: 'The red honda h emblem, identifiying this as a type r civic'.

And the ironic thing of it all was that the uk type r is actually built off our fits' chassis!

I have the red badges, but not because I want to be "JDM" or any of that ish. My fiance bought me all the badges when he had his Type-R, then he sold it. I think he did it so we could match? I'm not sure.
Sometimes, people make fun of them because they think it's rice. But who defines rice? I thought this whole modifying a car was a person's preface? Not the entire world. If someone wants to out red badges or si badges or whatever... let them. They'll change, like everyone does.

im not even sure if people are even aware that red emblems are related to Type-R.

people think the "R" stands for race, but in reality it stands for "Ryusuke."

sure, why not. lol ;)

The object is to modify your car to what you like and what vision you have that you are trying to achieve. It all comes down to if you like the way it looks and you want to do it - go for it. My friend Rod has a 2005 Honda Accord - totally debadged. The only way you know what it is would be to look at the steering wheel or under the hood. He loves the fact that people can't really tell what kind of car it is and it leaves them guessing

Just wondering what if I change the badge of JAZZ to a red FIT does it count? This is funny cause nobody calls me "ricer" or anything cause I live in europe and jazz here are use by old people... In my opinion there is no wrong on changing emblems, you are just making it more NICER than a STOCK parts, personal choice, personal motif, and make it more diff than the normal models. And just a simple part changing like emblems make a whole different ballgame when you look at the car... Simple but effective, go for the mod, and mod for life... ciao!!!
