I believe the fuel filter needs to be replaced.

when was the ignition system last serviced? different amounts of gas
need different spark strength at the plugs - if the ignition componentry
is getting weak, you could be getting weak spark at certain revs.
also check the engine computer for codes - you may have something like a
faulty throttle position sensor, but that's much less likely.
