then you would probably upgrade you garage into an arsenal by adding a laser, turrets and landmines...

Yeah it probaly will be 30k or more, but it will complete with the STi and EvoX im guessing, both of those start in mid 30 range.

the sporty civic started out as a hatch and should have ALWAYS been a hatch. end of story.

i hope they don't think it will compete with these two, because the sti and evo offer interior anemities (something that type r's are supposed to do without) and power that 30k is worth.

they need to be realistic and place it about 2k more expensive than the si and not make another mistake like they did with the mugen si which is languishing on dealer lots.

Hmmm....actually, i take back what i said about the type r competing with the Sti/evo's of the world.

Honda can position it as such a vehicle if they want ONLY it either has to:

1. Weigh abot 2-300lbs less than the current Si, while still packing the most potent k20 or even better k24 known to man.

or

2. have sh-awd and the k23 turbo from the rdx.

then it would compete (and be badass all at the same time! ;))

wait a minute

i was at work when i tried clicking on the link, and ofcourse got a huge DENIED block.

I just got home and checked, and this website claims that the prototype for the U.S. is pictured. Its actually just the new JDM type r.

2010 would also mark the last year that the civic is offered as the current generation. the end of 2010 would have the new9th gen coming out.

Maybe the hatch would be more feesible than the sedan at that point, especially if the hatch is offered at at least an ex trim level.

By that time honda will have had to really put some guts into this thing. Where will cars like the wrx and mazdaspeed 3 be at at that point?

If they do bring a variant of the JDM CTR here in 2010, I know my Fit will be history. Nothing but excellent reviews of it, and I'd imagine if they sold it for about $25-26K they'd have a major hit.

that price sounds better. Gives my driving record time to cool down and hopefully get out of some negative equity in the Fit!

my thoughts exactly! If it was in the 25k range (which is a jump from the si obviously) its still postioned perfectly.

At that price it'd be a major hit!

Wouldn't mind having a CTR, but unless that thing was garaged in my *own* garage, I would never sleep soundly! :)

yeah, its unfortunate that thieves have not realized that there are other cars whose parts are just as pricey. You could argue that ignorance is what has made honda's so prone to being stolen for the whole car or parts themselves.

Maybe if they weren't so damn limited. But then again wheres the fun in that?

Itd be great if honda could find a happy medium. But even at an outrageous price, they'd still be loosing money.
