Thanks for the replies. The dealership actually waived the diagnostic
fee--I guess they found just how trivial it was to diagnose. Honda
America agreed to cover the cost of the parts, and I am to cover the
labor, which only comes to be around $50. Not bad.

I think I would call that one a victory. $50 for labor sounds cheap,
actually. I think it took the technician about an hour to replace mine.

Hey guys, i have the same issue, but i approached it with buying an aftermarket stereo and placed it in front of the Automatic shift knob where the middle dash is supposed to be. The light went out about a little more then a year ago around 65k miles im assuming. if i can undo the changes i did, do you think i have a chance of getting mine replaced free of charge?
