Evo X vs. STi
#61
thats kinda interesting, given that a new stock GSR runs about 13.6.
and i dunno about anyone else, but in the big world of speed, this is faster than most people ever dream of going.
as a honda fit driver, i'm slightly more cautious as to what i call 'slow'.;)

i hear you. thing is it isn't quite fair to compare the two at this point in time. the 4G has 15+ years, the 4B has less than a year of regular operational use.
could you do me a favor and ask that guy what kind of tune he got? an AEM FIC that can do almost everything with the notable exception of not being able to advance timing or a PROcede or a Perrin Unichip? i only ask because there is no fully developed tuning solution for it yet (that i happen to know of), wheras the 4G has open source tuning available for it via openecu. i'm just happy that it an undersquare design.

OH NO YOU DI'INT!!! i think you're trying to bait me. i refuse because, i have to be honest here, i have never had the chance to drive any kind of sequentially shifting manual. whether it be a dual clutch or conventional, i have never had the chance to try one. on one hand, driving manual is a challenge no matter how good or how many years one gets, so it's always satisfying. but when i goof around in a indoor kart, i never miss having to shift myself since the karts i have driven were single speed indoor karts only. i am really curious because if i got an evo X, i might actually be inclined to get the SST and turn that into a all out race car since the transmission decreases pilot work load...
here's one where they review the MR with the TC-SST.
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR - Quick Test - Motor Trend
0-60 is a little slower to protect the transmission. i like the part where the author specifies that this is the best version of any dual-clutch/ sequential transmission thus far.

obviously they haven't driven any GTI's lately.;)

i knew you were smarter than that!;) but all jokes aside, the gti's/gli's tranny is incredible. i'd love to try the one coming in the new ralliart ( i happen to like the way the hatch is styled.)

No argument here. As I stated before, I believe the Evo is the better car.....but still would choose the STi. This battle has gone on in every magazine, in every forum, on every car show, and has been argued to the hilt for YEARS by enthusiasts......and it will continue. The reason is because both are so fun to drive, and such good cars from a driver's standpoint. In the end it comes down to personal preference.
i agree. stock to stock, i know the evo puts up better numbers, at least the last interation, (the new sti is quicker to 60 i belive), but there is just something about the last gen sti that is really really special.

hell even a relatively 'economical' sport compact like an si or gti is looking bad, i may just end up modding the fit and keeping it forever!
