04 Accord EX - Not sure if my clutch is going bad?
I have an '04 Honda Accord EX with 42,000 miles on it. Just over the
past few weeks I noticed something strange with my clutch. When I
press in the clutch, within the last two inches before the clutch is
fully pressed in I can feel and hear slight vibrations in the clutch,
like it's rubbing up against something. I looked above the clutch
pedal and I can't see anything wrong (but I'm no expect so it doesn't
surprise me I didn't find anything). Does this sound like a clutch
going bad (I have not had any transmission problems but this is my
first manual transmission I've owned). Any ideas?

I don't know about the Accord, but the clutch pedal in the Civics is
easily bent sideways. It grinds and squeaks like it's going bad but
it's just the strain on the hinge and piston from being pushed to the
side.
Since this is your first MT, there's a good chance that you bent the
pedal from an abrupt shift on a hard turn. Push the pedal half way in
with your foot and wiggle it side to side. If it only wiggles inwards,
you've bent it outwards. Reach down there and bend it back into
alignment so it pushes in straight.

Re: 04 Accord EX - Not sure if my clutch is going bad?
I tried doing what you suggested but I could find no wiggle room to
rock the clutch back and forth after pressing the clutch half way down.
I hope it is just a lubrication issue. I have inspection scheduled
for next week; I'll have them take a look at it then just to make sure
nothing is wrong. Thanks.
