Tires for '97 Honda Civic DX...
Hi, I live in the Washington D.C. area and am looking for tires for my
'97 Honda Civic DX Sedan (185/65R/14). I am wondering what people here
would suggest?? My priorities in terms of a preferred tire are (in
order) 1) good handling, especially as far as traction is concerned 2)
low noise and 3) durability. Are there any good websites on-line (or
tire stores off-line, even) that offer pretty good tires at a
reasonable price (probably not spending over $60/tire). I checked out
tirerack.com and they seem to recommend BF Goodrich Traction T/A H
($59) for my particular car, would this be a good buy or are there
similar quality tires out there at a cheaper price? Also, how much can
I expect to pay to have all 4 tires installed once I make purchase?
Thanks for any advice!!!

Bridgestone Turanza LS-T but go with 195/60-14. Very pleased with the
set of these on my 89 Civic LX. Very good traction, quiet, very nice
ride, but they're a little under $70 each. IMHO, worth it.
As an alternative, Kumho Ecsta HP4's are also very good map to your
wants. They go for less than $45 each from tirerack.com. We have a set
on my wife's 2003 Civic EX and are happy with them.
Regardless of your choice, buy them from tirerack.com and have WalMart
mount and balance them. They do a good job pretty cheap and offer
lifetime free rotation.

Forgot to mention that regardless of your decision, my suggestion is to
go with 195/60-14 size tires. They fit, provide better traction and are
about the same diameter (no speedometer correction).

got a set of 195/60 14" BFG tourings for under $300 all inclusive at
sams club. i wouldnt stick with the stock size. 195/60s look and handle
much better.
but then again, the OEM fireston FR680s really really suck.
