It comes with K20A VTEC which puts out 165 kW (221 hp) @ 8,000 RPM (!) and a 21.9 kgm (158.4 lb-ft) torque @ 6,100 RPM, along with a 6-speed MT that has been specially designed for this car.

I am jealous of its v-tec indicator. But I don't like the engine start button.

Yup, very nice indeed. As we speak I've got some catalogs and promo goods from the release along with a promo DVD for it they put out as well coming from a friend in Japan.

Here's a link to a promo vid on the Japanese Honda site:

And the photogallery too, with wallpaper downloads:

oh so nice, I recognized Paul Ricard right away in that video.

We are really getting jipped here in the US. At least with the DC2r we got an R that was pretty close to the Japanese version. We don't get anything now.

It is beyond me why Honda hasn't brought the Civic Type R to the U.S. This car is freaking sweet. They would have the same problem they had when the Fit came out...they wouldn't be able to keep up with demand.

its badges . . its just badges . .

its the same friggen engine in the SI , nothing more or less, just looks pretty and for the price you can get the new paddle shifted Lancer Rallyart 2.4 myvec turbo

really . . too little to late for honda on this one, unless they give us a car with real power, its nothing to get excited over . .

It's more than just an SI rebadged.

It may be the same engine, but it is much more efficient producing 225 hp or 28 more than SI, a 14% increase. Not bad, and definitely not the same. Not even the SE Mugen SI will come close at only 200 hp. I believe, but not sure, that this beats the Lancer too.

Check out the site for yourself.

Oh and it can be yours in Japan for under $27k.
