The little door into the house is the laundry room which has crawl space underneath. I put a 5 hp compressor down there, and I had a refrigerated air dryer from a plant liquidation. So I have quiet dry compressed air piped in the garage.
Pull down stairs to huge storage space above.

In the winter I am wet vacuuming up water from the snow that melts that the cars drag in. Takes me 20 minutes. My kids and wife just throw their bikes and stuff in there all over, so I am always putting their crap away LOL
I went cheap but effective on lighting. 9 of the typical porcelain $3 fixtures with a mixture of 100 & 200 watt CFL's. Also I skipped any epoxy coat on the floor.

Currently renting with a small one car garage so no garage love from me yet. The house that I rent out had a pretty nice carport with a workshop. Ironically, I couldnt get a car into the carport due to it being behind my house perpendicular to my driveway but I miss that working area! Once I can sell that house, I will have a detached 3-4 car similiar to yours...well that's the plan at least!
