success is finding someone who makes you smile ever day. having some money around helps too but it is not success in my book.

i was engaged too and your right, i couldnt pick a day.

what was the setting when you popped the question?

I never did. Fiancee in word, not in action. We just kind of know we are going to. I am still trying to figure out the perfect time and place to pop the question. I am a perfectionist.

You were engaged? What happened?

i really dont know what happened. it was super weird. she was at her mom's home sick with the flu so i drove off to eastern washington to go to a concert but i decided to leave early and go back to our apartment. i got there around 2am and she was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden we started chatting about what we are doing together and how are lives will be in the future and then we both decided to end what we had together. we are still ok friends but it was the weirdest thing i have ever experienced.

so what is your idea of a perfect setting to pop the question?

I am not sure. I want to do something unique. It seems like we have so many different things that we have marked as off limits. No birthdays, no holidays, no family gatherings, no weddings. I am really trying to think of something that would not be cliche, and would be meaningful to her. I mean if it was me the perfect setting would be at a giant car show, or maybe a massive meeting of fitfreaks. But she isnt that into cars. Still wracking my brain on it. She is a chinese major. I would love to learn how to propose to her in chinese.

So whats it like being friends with your former fiancee?

we talk about once every two days. there is more too it than just being friends. three weeks after we decided to split we found out i prego'ed her ego so now we will be together for life sorta. she is a great girl but we just hit reality and figured out it would be better not to.

maybe you should do it on a cute picnic. no one does anything old school romantic anymore.

so you nervous about being married?

I get nervous over details of doing things. Once they are done I feel great and its on to something else. I think I am just nervous about the process. You know asking her dads permission, proposing, planning, honeymoon, what happens after we get married. all that. I think I am going to go to bed though. I gotta be back at work in 5 hours.

Are you nervous about being a daddy?
