What? That can't be right. I just chose a random zip code 37917 for Knoxville, TN and typed it into my gas price widget.
BP Gas Station (8901 Oak Ridge Hwy) is showing $3.57/gallon for Regular
Exxon in the same area is $3.57/gallon
Are you saying that you can't find 87 Octane anywhere?

Yup, he is right. His state supplies my gas and they were doing the same thing. They closed the pipe at Knoxville, TN, which feeds us (Marion, VA.) a 150 miles north east of him on Interstate 81. There was mas chaos around with cars parked in the streets waiting to get gas before they closed the pipe. I made it because I was on "E" and paid $4.17 for the cheap stuff. Most stores had closed up here by Friday afternoon.

Hah! Good one. Hurricane Ike closed down all of the Texas gulf gas production, and will probably continue to be the excuse for high profits for the oil industry for months. Just on the eve of promises from the TV news casters that gas prices were about to come down.

I love how gas shot up in price 10 cents a Liter two days before the storm even hit. What a bunch of bull.
Nothing to do with gas prices, we pay for that out of our income tax... a lot of tax

The Governor of WV enacted a state of emergency so that gas stations don't hike the prices for gas during
the recent storms in the gulf. However, yesterday when I got gas it was back up to $4.05 for regular. My tank was a little past the half way point and I pre-paid $25.00 but it only took $24.00. The cashiers at this station are so use to me coming back in for my change that she already had the drawer open and had pulled out my $1.00 bill. She just laughed and I said well that is what you get for a car that gets 39 mpg. The guy coming out the door behind me said, "Damn" I just lauaghed!

You pay even less in Alberta than I do here. Here I'm gouged out of 35% of my paycheck every week, then another 14% sales tax. Half my money is gone every week to support a less than perfect overworked healthcare system, roads that suck and on top of that my property tax is $3600/year, and when I moved to where I live now, there was a $10K welcome tax.
