Being the nerd that I am, I bought a copy of Spore for my PC even after I told myself I won't.
I made fun of it after seeing screens, vids, reviews. Yet here I am playing it. Never thought I'd buy a game that my GF likes.
I FAILED!

mitch hedberg is awesome. hes one of my favorites, right up there with rodney dangerfield for me ;P
i bought a stud finder. it was cheap, but i have used my hands and ears to find studs for years...only used it once in the past 2 months since i have had it, but its nice to have sometimes even tho i still dont use it much at all.
havent bought anything neat besides that in a while that isn't for the fit.
oh and i have been building my record collection... started with The Ergs! still havent finished putting the record player together yet so havent listened to em...haha eventually...

I thought Mitch died? How'd they get a new album? Pretty neat regardless he was hilarious.
Picked up an SB-600 Speedlight yesterday for my D90, this thing is loads of fun and all I did was use it around the house so far.

No, not particularly, more an enthusiastic amatuer at the moment. I'm working on putting together a business idea for shooting car shows in the area around here for next year, plus some other events and such, so hopefully it'll pay for itself fairly soon. In the meantime . . .
It's really amazing; solves every complaint I had about my previous setup -- poor focus accuracy and tracking, metering consistency, quality of the metering itself, etc. Plus, it's frighteningly fast for sports/action. It's like moving from a Type-R to a Zonda, it's that good.

What were you shooting with before? I think I've heard you mention it before but I don't remember. I'd love to shoot with a D3 but as a part-time working college student paying off a car it's taken me almost 2 years just to get where I'm at now haha. D90 so far as been a pretty worthwhile upgrade, the AF is pretty fast to what I'm used to and the high iso completely destroys what my D40 and D60 used to do.

You got no reason to make excuses for the D90, it's a great camera from all indications. No shame in being able to afford what you can; believe me the D3 is a bit of a stretch, probably the most expensive thing I've bought outside of my house and car. I just figured might as well do the full monty and be done with it, then no upgrade lust for years to come (and no excuses for crappy shots now either
