Cute as hell... Nice picture too I guess lol just curious have you thought about using another flash towards the rear to get rid of her shadow? I'm getting some light equipment soon, can't wait to try it out.

Haha I would love to use another flash, I just don't have $250 to spend on the strobe and then more cash for the accessories :P

My strobe setup will be done once I get 2 more 13' HD stands, 1 B800, 1 B1600, and 2 strip boxes,.. Oh yeah, and a Vagabond.

you have like 3 hv285s, don't you? couldn't you trigger one in the back with your cybersyncs and then use the slave function of the b800 to go off when the vivitar does?

or am I missing something...?

I think I'm going to pick up a E1 camera strap this Friday, my camera is starting to feel a bit heavy. I can't imagine how it will be if I get the 24-70 or the 70-200

? of the day...

Where do you buy your gear?

As I've said before, I'm buying a 50d. Problem, where to buy it?

A retail store will cost me more $ + tax when compared to an online retailer.

Newegg.com has the body for $949. Or I can buy from B&H for $1,129 with $50 mail-in-rebate.

I'm thinking B&H, no Tax and Free shipping.

IMO, buy a better lens than any kit lens.

The EF-S 18-55 IS is a surprisingly good lens. Not great by any means but good.

I'm saving up for my first "L"

Needed the flash first.

Hmm, cool you got it, but in all honesty you should've skipped the protection plan and put the money towards getting the kit w/ the 17-85 instead. Much better lens w/ IS incld. and the focal length range is much more usable. 28-135 on the 50D is more like 45-216 w/ the 50D's crop factor, which means it's not very wide and you'll run into issues for indoor shooting where you need the wider field of view. 17-85 is equal to about 28mm on the wide end, so much more versatile, depending on what you shoot. Ideal lens for EF-S Canons is the 17-55 f2.8 IS -- L quality optics in a consumer build lens; fast, sharp, and IS as well, in a very useful focal range. I had it when I had my 40D, and it was a winner in every way.

I totally agree on skipping on the protection plan. I find it unless for me and put the money o 17-50 f/2.8 lens. or 24-105mm f/4 lens or look at Sigma or Tokina or Tamron lens.
