Took these today, flash on full power, 1/200 f/14. Came out better than I thought they would. Pretty cool

I want to do a more formal shoot like this, me and my little sister just ran outside and took these in like 5 minutes. The street signs reflection was kind of distracting and cars kept driving by.

Did you bounce your flash in those shots above?

My lights were worth every penny to me
It was about 1k for my full one light setup haha.
I still need two more B800's too

Nope it was just straight on, tried to bounce off my garage door but I didn't work out too good. Maybe cause there was shade there?

Well, it's probably the ETTL messing it up, IDK because my Vivitar was full manual.

maybe you were too far from the garage?

try bouncing or going off camera, you'll be amazed

I was as close as to the garage as possible, didn't come out that great but maybe cause the sky wouldn't be in the picture if I was next to the garage? Ill try again in another location.

Yeah, she'll also have to be close to the garage for the light to reach her.

I had a Canon 500 f/4 L but sold it so I could help my wife out in the boobie department. I use those more often than I got to use the big gun.

qbmurderer13,

Move your sis in the grass, get on a ladder or step stool and shoot down at her a little. You don't need to get real high, just elevated enough to eliminate the distractions.

Having a problem with my SB600 flash. If I set it up too a fast shutter speed with a small aperture and the flash on full power like I did in one of those shots it will automatically set itself back down to the weakest flash setting -3.0. Even in manual mode. If I shoot regularly indoors and set the flash up to +3.0 (highest setting) it works fine so I know its not the batteries. Maybe the flash can't flash that fast? Even though I've shot like this before... I don't know what's going on.

are you shooting above 1/250? that's the max flash sync speed for the d60.
