Well thanks man, I didn't even do any dodging or burning. All RAW edits, nothing more.

Although I'm not completely happy with the pics I got some decent firework pictures from the 4th. Not bad for my first time shooting fireworks but nothing special.

This was with a Sony Alpha A700, remote shutter release, tripod, Sony DT 18-200 f/3.5-6.3, shot in manual mode, f/10, Bulb exposure, AWB, ISO 200, and manual focus set to infinity. Next year I want to get farther away so I can use some of my higher end glass and I want to remember to turn the stupid steady shot off while on the tripod.

yeah there was literally no movement in the air, the smoke just lingered but gotta make the best with what you got. I think some of them came out better with the smoke then they would have without but it would have been nice if it would have cleared out a bit.

IMO there's nothing wrong with that. The girls are legal age and willing so I see no issue with it.

you're right, there's nothing wrong with it. but i still don't quite like the idea. it's like making music just for the money...i just personally feel like it's for the wrong reasons.

Music is a job like anything else, would you show up to work everyday for free? I sure wouldn't. If you can get paid to do what you love your lucky, but for the rest of the world you work to make a living.

I do see your view, I'm not trying to say your opinion is wrong, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Mine kinda comes from first hand experience, without getting into to much detail growing up the only time spent with my dad was related to cars, when I was a kid I always played with cars, when I was in highschool cars was all I thought about, all my friends were car people, everything I did was car related.... cruise nights, street racing (back in the day), car shows, etc... I thought cars were the coolest thing ever I went to school for cars, I built a show car that I entered into things from local no name stuff to HIN chicago, then I built a racecar for roadrace/autoX. Cars was my hobby so I made it my career, after a couple years it made me hate my hobby and career. It came down to picking one or the other. I got rid of the fun cars, stopped going to cruise nights and the car hang outs, etc. I made cars nothing more then a job and I've never been happier with my job or my personal life since completely separating the two.

They always say don't make your hobby your job, I did and I grew to hate both my hobby and my job LOL
