Nice cameras. A few non-North American models. A little hard to get ahold of, no, especially the Ricoh models?

No not at all, I ordered mine at PopFlash.Photo and they are located in the US/Cali.

Geez, been a while . . . . missed the photo challenge and everything. Too busy to do much of anything lately, but here's some from a few weeks back when I had a chance to get out and shoot:

The full set's on my HP and Flickr pages, just found it parked in a lot near town.

Thanks very much! Now that the weather's getting warmer I'm sure I'll get out more to shoot soon. I was out yesterday w/ the yard ape at the park and there were some reenactors there practicing and I got this shot w/ the 80-200:

I'm liking the lens so far, but have only used it a very little bit as I only just re-arranged my bag so that I can fit the camera w/ 80-200 in it. The shot above is one out of about 25-30 which all came OK, but the look on his face and the stick position I like the best in this one. He didn't change expressions very much the whole time he was playing, so this is pretty representative of the set. The rest of the shots from the day were of the ape playing, so only interesting for me, though they came out great.

What the heck -- here's a yard-ape snap from the weekend as well, just for fun. Sad when a 2.5 yr old has more hair than you do.

Really nice pictures guys, im tired of taking crappy pictures with my 4.0 mp point and shoot camera. What would you guys recommend as a first DSLR? I figured I can do some research on camera forums but I know most people here have chosen a camera for taking pictures of cars and such. Thanks

You can always go the higher end P/S like the Canon G10...Which i highly recommend...just remember is not always the camera that make the crappy shot...but if you are looking into DSLR I would recommend the Canon XS or the older version XSI or XTI or some of the Sony one too A300....And car is the last thing I will shoot! hahahaha
