Nuther new camera. Nikon FM. Going to be used for astrophotography and star trails and stuff that works better on film. Yes, I know, its way too much Nikon stuff.

Very Nice Kyle...Love the first shot, for the others you probably want to go with MF rather then AF if you are shooting macro.... the shot of the roadside is good example of DOF Depth of Field and the show of the Z is underexposure....use the link I provide early and look through them, they provide a lot great information. Happy shooting

You don't think DSLRs work good for star trails?

alright i'll post a couple

i bought some stuff today, and made a homemade soft box out of some poster board, tin foil, and a white sheet
i love it.
then i used a flood light to go behind the subjects
(soft box is to the right of the subjects)

this picture is unedited.
i was so happy with it i didn't want to edit it:

this one is slightly edited:

You might wanna kick your shutter speed a little slower, halogen lights aren't as bright to camera sensors as they seem to be to our eyes. While the lighting is even in your pictures the exposure is pretty off, also the halogen is throwing your WB off a bit too. Other than that for a DIY soft box it looks very good!

I've done a few of them with my D90 without any problems... just curious as to why he believed the 35mm body would work better.

It works fine. I just like how my old stuff turned out on film. Its a little more fun, you can't fine tune on the spot so you have to try harder.

Not sure what camera you have but nikoncafe.com is a great Nikon forum. Aside from lens specific and body specific things though you can learn great techniques there as well if you don't shoot Nikon.
