a lot people will find it later that the stock lens is unless...and away switch it with something better...like a faster lens, sharper lens, well build lens, and something to fit there needs.
nice photo...right there is good example of min DOF. and look like you has polarizing filter too.

i as at circuit city today, and they had really good prices on cameras... it was tempting, but i think i'll wait until summer to see if i can actually get a summer job.
Sony a200 - $350
Sony a300 - $419
Nikon d60 - $419...

it's so tempting, but i'm a student, so i'll probably wait to see if i can get a summer job before i make any big purchases. ahhh. i just don't know. But i was actually leaning towards the sony, b/c of the cheaper lens options. I like the nikon, but their lenses are so expensive. plus the d60 uses a sony ccd.

Dam the circuit city here had no D60 on D40 for $400 and it had a broken flash. If ours had that deal i would have went with the D60 instead of the D40. But i like the D40 its a good start for me. But i already have my eye on a D300

I love FedEx -- they always bring a box of happiness every time they show up.
Today's treat:
Finally I can get in close now when I need to. 24-70 is a great lens and probably will stay my main lens, but this'll be great for portraits, motorsports, etc. Now I just need for the weather to clear up to go out and really give it a whirl.

Actually, yes, she was going to sign for it if I was out of the house when it came. She can't complain though, this is actually Nikon's "budget" 80-200 2.8 zoom; it's like half the price of the current 70-200 2.8 VR, but optically it's actually about the same and maybe a bit better even, though no VR or AF-S. Build is like a tank, and on the D3 its focus is still quite quick from what I can see so far.

well my best friend just got a nikon D40, and we're ALWAYS together, so it's almost like i got one
here are some pictures i took:
it's just the kit lens and everything, should be upgrading soon
DSC_0036-1.jpg?
only the first picture has any editing, other than that, i haven't messed with it.
i'm still getting the hang of it so give me time though!!!

You are correct, that's the other reason I avoided the 70-200. At that price I expect more than what it offers currently on full frame.
