D40x is a D40 with 10mp instead of 6. Both are DSLRs. The D60 is the replacement for the D40x and somewhat for the D40. I've had both a D40 and a D60 and I prefer the D60. Not much is different but little things here and there. Since the D40/60s don't have a top LCD panel they must use the rear lcd to display shooting info. With the D40 it tends to stay on when you're looking through the viewfinder and it's rather bright at night. The D60 has an auto-off feature to combat that, also the rear lcd flips the shooting info if you're holding it in portrait mode. Biggest benefit for the D60 would be active d-lighting, which is by far my favorite feature of Nikon DSLRs.
On a side note, for that bit about Sony doing the sensors for Nikon. Nikon has always been a lens maker first and cameras second. So I'm not all that surprised that Sony is making their sensors. Funny bit of information is that Nikon used to make the lenses for Canon cameras since Nikon didn't make cameras, and Canon didn't make lenses!

Thanks Man! I love the lens and UW on it and the being a F/2.8!..it build beautiful and sharp as hell copy! But the Range to short for me! But again I was trying it out....I would ditch the 18-50 for a 24-70 anyday! b/c most of my shooting is that range...and also being a F/2.8 it perfect! I have try the canon 24-70L, Sigma 24-70, Tamron 28-75 also the nikkor 24-70 with a D200 Body....if you can't afford the nikkor, the sigma i would totally recommend b/c it bulid like tank ( like all sigma lens) the glass is just sharp! Plus it half the cost of the nikkor.

Yeah they've had it in development for a bit, however it's not released yet for sale. I heard that one website has it up yet but only if you search for it, they have it priced at $800!!! A bit much if you ask me since the 18-50 HSM was only about $450.

I really like that first one, if you shot it in RAW you should make an HDR out of it.
I just picked up a second SB-600 last night, I thought shooting with one off camera flash was difficult; now I'm in a whole different world haha.
