I have an Olympus Stylus 760 (7.1 megapixel)

I like it for the most part, but you gotta use the image stabilizer in bright areas or using the flash with it. Much better than my OLD Sony, though.

I know next to nothing about cameras, but Fitcapo suggested looking into a Kodak for a point and shoot camera. They are good cameras, and have a lower price tag. I'll try to get him in here when i talk to him later. Maybe he will be able to help you a bit more than i can.

Go with Canon!
I picked up my Canon SX100IS and OMG is this thing amazing for a P&S. Full manual mode, and a ton of Auto modes for noobs like me. Great and easy to use interface. Feels perfect in your hand, not too heavy or light. 10x zoom kicksass. Biuld quality is top notch.
Overall its a 9.3 from me so far. Excellent first day with it.

Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 is the best I have found. A little old but it is an eight megapixel and can not be beat in quality.

I don't like point and shoots. I prefer something that is a tad more advanced. I do photography on the side and I need a camera that is going to get a great picture. If the camera is a bit bulky (compared to the point and shoots), then, so be it. Sony and Cannon both have great camera's, but I am more of a Sony fan for the digitals. Now, if we were talking 35mm, then i would get a Cannon hands down.
