Glad to see other drummers with fits! I have a mapex 6 piece set on a drum rack, so I need the space of a hatchback. I don't have a fit yet, but I should be picking one up tomorrow. After test driving most of the other hatchbacks, the fit is the most fun and has the best milage. Plus it looks better than the rest.

This is OT, but hey, I'll bite. Besides lessons, what would be a good kit (used or new) for a beginning drummer to learn on? I play the heck outta games like Drum Mania on the PS2, and recently, I've really wanted to learn how to play for real. It's my favorite instrument. Thanks!

My first set was a cheap, cheap Percussion Plus set. I think I bought them for $300 or something new. I would suggest just any type of cheap, possibly used drumset you can find to start, then later you can upgrade to a better set. Later on I'd suggest a Gretch or Mapex set depending on how much you play/where you play.

Hard core drummer here! Currently in two bands, and have been playing for many many years of my life! Cool to see fellow musicians here on FitFreak.net.
What do you guys think Of Danny Cary, the drummer for TOOL. OMG, if you havent heard him go buy a TOOL CD or two, your jaw will be on the floor. Its sooo techinical! Both my bands are going in to record soon. As soon as that happens ill post some of our stuff here. I started drumming when i was 8 on a very very cheap set. I was playing guitar for about a year then and just wanted to try out a set. I absolutly loved it. I played for hours a day. Just started to pick up the really basic timing beats after about a month. After a year then found my favorite drummer ever Danny cary and would listen to his stuff for hours trying to model it. that was my lessons never any formal lessons with a teacher. Then found a band, jammed with them went through 3 or 4 diffrent bands before finding my currnt band Cellofane and just joined a new band last week! Long story short drumming is the best lol!

Been playing clubs for 15 years! I've been thru many kits, but I purchased a DW kit back in '96 and play it still. An amazing kit, played in rain, cold, heat and it's never far out of tune. More than worth the money.

I just picked up the new Neil Peart signature snare to play around with(mostly stare at).

I also picked up a roland v-drum pro kit a few months ago(damn neighbors). Been having some fun with that...i'll have to take some pics i guess.

*edit. found a crappy pic of the v-drums. starting the kid out early...and yes i'm a lefty.

So, I JUST got my fit and I'm so excited. Now I just have to practice using a 5-speed, since it's been years since driving one...

well, i'm a guitarist, but i totally respect amazing drummers, i lack that kind of coordination

(off topic, but i can fit all sorts of my guitar gear in the back and not even have to fold the seats down, hah)

if you haven't seen jimmy chamberlin from the smashing pumpkins perform live, you definitely need to (not a fan of current sp stuff, but his drumming is still amazing). he makes it look so ridiculously easy.
