I'd recommend Nitto NT01's for track days... and Invo's for street performance... or Toyo R1R's.

Post pics when you mount them up.....

The NT01's and Invos are both Nittos You will only see Nitto's on my car on the street or track... Same with my Fit (Nitto Neo Gens).

Toyo and Nitto are the same co. btw... and the Toyo RA1's are the spec tire for Honda Challenge. I used the RA1's for a while before using the NT01's for TA's... the NT01's have a better sidewall which resulted in better lap times.

Limerock is a fun track... too bad the NASA NE club only had a few dates this year. Actually I have not been on the new track yet. All our track time was early in the season before the make over!

Post a review of the Mugen coilovers when you get some time.

yea, the 06-08 mazda mx-5 cup cars are great cars, super fun to drive....trail braking helps though

The mugen suspension is fantastic, Now while i can't really review the sport suspension as a whole, Ill give my review on my setup.

I wanted a lower drop and a custom spring rate ratio so i swapped out the mugen springs for eibach sportlines in the front, and skunk2 rear springs. This provides a more rear biased setup then the original.

The Setup:

Mugen Sport Dampers
Sportline Front springs 185# 1.5" drop (2.0" on usdm)
Skunk2 Rear Springs 350# 1.5" drop (1.5" on usdm)

The Technical:

The Mugen dampers resemble the factory units, however they are shortened to preserve the suspension travel. The front spring perch is also about a 1/2" higher compared to the mount holes on the USDM stock dampers. So if you are planning on doing the same thing as I, be aware that the front will ride 1/2" higher then it would be on stock dampers with aftermarket springs. So if they advertise a 1.5 drop in the front and 1.3 in the rear. The drop with these dampers would be 1.0 in the front and 1.3 in the rear do to the raised perch (this is also a reason I mismatched the springs.

The front hub mount holes need to be drilled out to 14mm or a 9/16" hole.

The rears are shortened as well and the bottom mount is maybe an 1/8" narrower then the usdm mount, so you will need some washers to space it correctly.

The driving experience:

These are great, I believe the high speed damping is almost a bit softer then stock, they absorb bump and ruts better I think then the oem units and give a firm but solid ride. Keep in mind I also have stiffer springs then stock, so its impressive the ride is so nice. Over all i think the ride is more firm but it handles the imperfections in the road much better.

The low speed damping is stiffer and controls load transfers beautifully. The car feels very balanced and the weight is very controllable side to side and front to back with accel/braking. It just feels like you can control the car exactly as you wish, and the car listens and reacts perfectly.

Being that this setup uses progressive springs when you pitch the car into a corner the spring rate increases nicely and holds your position and controls the amount of roll.

Overall i would highly recommend this setup to anyone, suitable both for track and street, perfect for the daily driver that also seems some trackdays or auto-x.
